ky school for the deaf. 9.8.09 fieldtrip~

another fieldtrip...(here are some pix of our group-about 20 of us today)

this time to danville, ky (about an hour from home) to the ky school for the deaf.
we had a good time and everybody was very friendly! and they have a museum
(basically some of the older bldgs. being restored, restoration process has been
going on for years and years) this school has been around for over 200 years, and
was the 3rd "state" school in the country, then it became the 1st "state-funded" state
school...i think they had 12 {or more} bldgs. altogether and the campus is very large!
these pix show this "communication hole" through 5 floors in the oldest bldg., the people on the first floor (or any floor for that matter) could sign to the people on the other floors to communicate...it was pretty cool!
we have many more pix, but i won't bore you with all the details~
mostly posting to give you an idea of what we're doing and somewhat of a record
for us...hope you enjoyed! i think s* will put a video together at the end of the
year of all our 2009-10 lifeschool adventures ~stay tuned~
