we brought mayme, and ended up staying until 8pm~
(we've never stayed that late before!)
they had a huge exhibit "Lincoln to Luthers" from
the KY Historical Society, it was interesting...
and we spent much time chit-chattin' with the
soldier from the Cold War!
s* 'earned' & made a veggie pizza @ the Nutrition exhibit
after doing sit-ups, bike, and calculating daily caloric intake...
s* loves (every year) to see the collies chase the ducks-
this has been a show at the state fair since mike used to
go as a kid, now the son of the original guy does the show~
{we got 60% off our ticket admission by signing up for tix
a month in advance as a homeschool! - love a great deal!}

then, wednesday (8/26) we went to the
Frazier International History Museum in l'ville (downtown)~
uhhh, it's been a long time since i've driven downtown w/one-way
streets, construction, and all that...*what an adventure*
our camera actually ran outta batteries - (ugh!) so, we don't have
much to show, but the Fontane Ferry exhibit was fun...
Fontane Ferry was an amusement park in l'ville from 1900 - 1969,
and they have had an exhibit dedicated to it for the last 40 yrs.,
they are shutting it down this year, but there were a lot of 'ol-timers'
there - reminiscing out loud and just havin' a lotta fun with the
games and music and other stuff from the park - good times!
{it cost 5 cents each to get in - throw back to the early 1900's
admission to the amusement park! - i'm so cheap!}

the next thing to look forward to with the homeschool group
is mom's mtg., teen nite, and we'll be attending
the Family Fall Picnic (9/19)~
s* may debut her homeschool newsletter @ the picnic!
she is really excited about being able to go to teen nite
(it is for 7th grade and older) they usually go bowling,
roller-skating, go to the movies, etc...
or it is hosted at a "volunteer" parent's house~

I'm with you guys, I like to go to the state fair for one full day per year. I usually go alone, but there are a lot of interesting things to see. Glad you had a good time. I'd love to see S*'s newsletter if she can email a copy of it or post it on your blog. Enjoyed the pictures.
Man you guys are full of field trips i love it, I think Cait and I are planning a little field trip for our selves for our one year. i would tell you guys about it but it a surprise. I also want to see this newsletter or S*.
Speaking of the fair it here in Lincoln right now and i don't think i am going to have time to go. Keep blogin.
