what a wonderful time we had!

(sorry some of the pix are a little blurry, ugh)
we visited Nebraska this past weekend to celebrate with some friends and family!
it was a great visit and we had a fantastic time!
it was a blessing to see dad, a few days before his birthday - he is doing really well - he is such a trooper after all he has been through physically! it was wonderful to see nicki, she seemed so happy to be able to visit with everyone, she is the BEST HOSTESS~ i loved talking with aunt sandi - she is so positive and upbeat! it was nice to finally meet kaitlyn (josh's girlfriend), she is so pretty and so very sweet...it was great to see prem (nicki's uncle), {i don't even know how long it's been since i've seen him last, maybe 10 years??}... it was fantastic that gramma nix could make it, and we could visit with her too! hanging out around the little bonfire {in the gazebo that dad & josh built} was so cool, great conversation - talking about how good & well-behaved we all were as children (all of us such model children -- ha ha ha)! nicki made some wonderful fried eggs-i was not allowed to eat my rice until i had some eggs, it was well worth the wait! :) we had yummy dinners at the kitchen table talkin' politics & culture...
it was very relaxed and a laid back weekend....
good times, good times!
we went to church on sunday morning and it was great! brian clark taught on James 2!
the message was quite powerful, and the verse that stood out most to me was:
"If ye fulful the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." ~James 2:8-10 (KJV)

Aunt Sandi, Josh, and Nicki were all Baptized on 10/10/10!!
the baptismal ceremony was beautiful! {i will admit that i am a little intimidated and maybe even judgemental of HUGE churches--but my time at Lincoln Berean was really magnificent!}
there were so many many many touching moments: when aunt sandi came up out of the water fists raised! when dad was praying with josh ((and YES, we did see josh wipe his eyes, he WAS crying!)) and when prem had his hand on nicki's head praying (after having heard one of prem's prayers before, you just know whatever he was praying for nicki in that moment was beautiful)!
i cried through the entire service, it was so moving and really inspired me in my walk!
55 other people were baptized on that day!!
~we are so grateful for the this visit, we have wonderful memories to cherish~
thank you dad & nicki!
God's wonderful work -- and little us were blessed to be witnesses!
~Thank You Jesus~
