--what a poopy week--but there is a silver lining~~

woah-last week was not such a good week...

our satellite went out on monday, so we called dish network, and set up for a 'technician' to come out on thursday...
[the guy was a total idiot] he didn't know what he was doing...
he was rough with our dvd recorder, tv, dvd player, etc. when mike tried to tell him what he thought the problem was, the guy didn't respond...
finally, after he installed a new dish/new box, he got so frustrated that it still wouldn't work, that he just hooked the satellite cable directly to the tv (who cares about the dvd player/recorder, i guess)- mike was irritated by the time he left, he told the guy to just go-
it took mike about 10 minutes to put everything back the way it was supposed to be (and working), then he realized that the guy bent the prong on the s-video cable (that is why he couldn't get it to work right, ughhh!) now mike is trying to resolve the $95 cost for the 'technician' to come out vs. the $35 cost of the cable the guy bent -- to no avail~

friday nite on the way to work, i got pulled over for doing 57mph in a 45mph zone!! i have been in ky for 12 yrs. and have not had one single violation on my record! oh well! another $163!!
i am so glad that the cop (a newbie, by the way) had time to pull over a family going to work, instead of checking on the pedophiles in bardstown....
(our mayor said last year that our police force just simply doesn't have time to verify if the sex offenders are listing accurate addresses!!)
bottom line - i was speeding, now i have to pay the price!

this weekend we cleaned carpets at the bank we clean - they didn't turn out very well- i think the carpets are just very worn out (the bank had talked about replacing them last year, but i guess they couldn't afford to?) we felt they looked about 70% clean, ughhh!!! not good!

however~
there is a silver lining! mike came to the home-church with us this weekend and he seemed to really enjoy it, i don't have any expectation of him coming back (getting up at 8am on sundays, not) but i was grateful he came this weekend!

You know what they say, "it is the darkest right before it goes pitch black" haha Hang in there, I'm sure it can always get worse. Thank God that most of our problems squarely fall in the "luxury problem catagory". Mind you it don't make them less of a problem, just a different kind. Slow Down! Take care of yourselves, we love you all. Dad
