who said you Needed eggs?

we are working on a Unit Study from Time Travelers called

"New World Explorers", it has been so much fun with recipes,

crafts, activities, and so much more...
here are some pix of some of the things s* has done so far:

here is her Captain's Log, made from cardboard, fabric, and paper...

we experimented with dying the paper with coffee grounds,

but it didn't work too well, so we just crumpled it up

and died it with stamping ink, then she covered the cardboard

with fabric and sewed the pages in~

and here is her ship: The Wolf which she made from paper towel and

c-fold boxes, looks good, but not too much like a ship to me...

(in her own words: i put the two boxes together with blue tape,

some on one side and some on the other as a hinge,

then i made a hole at the top, and at the top of the bottom

then i put string through the top hole and

made a knot so it would stay,

then tied the string around the bottom top hole)

and of course some of the Little House projects she's been creating:

here is her diorama, she colored/cut and added her own characters,

then she took it upon herself to create the wheel, which is really cool!

she also made some figurines of the Ingalls family members from the books,

she used polymer clay and baked them, they turned out really cute~

(from left to right: Carrie, Laura, Mary, Jack, Ma, and Pa)

(she also made a very small version of the China Shepherdess,

Ma's favorite thing,when Ma put the Shepherdess on the shelf,

that meant the family was Home~)

s* got this 'little house' at the goodwill for $2.50,

and so she 'temporarily' set it up for her newly made figurines,

who fit ever so snugly within, and then also she built a little place

for the cow, chicken, and horse and wagon on the side of the house...

and i can't help but show you the scrumptious cake she made

for me and gramma for mother's day~

{she forgot to add the eggs which made it a little crumbly,

but it tasted great!}
