4H Photography~

s* started in 4H Photography the week before last...

i hope our participation in 4H goes a little better this year than it did 2 years ago,

i think we got overwhelmed with the abeka homeschool curriculum, coupled with diving into 3 4H club groups at one time:

scrapbooking (only went twice)
cooking (only went twice)
small pets (we went twice, and 2 fieldtrips)

s* seemed to really enjoy the small pets club best, because during the first fieldtrip, she got to visit a vets' office and help hold anesthesia over a dog's mouth that was getting ready to have wire untangled from around it's foot (she was so thankful to be able to help). (**now, we regularly visit the vets' office to donate old newspapers, chit chat with the staff, and see the animals).

the name of her Photography Club is 'The Snappin' Turtles' (she doesn't like the name at all, the group voted it in...), but she likes the first assignment:

take pictures of shapes (ex: tires, marbles)

take pictures of colors (ex: one solid, contrasting, blending)

take pictures of both colors/shapes

i'll post her pix once she has completed her assignment~

her teacher Mr. Jackey is pretty cool, he owns Jackie Photography here in Bardstown,

he is an older gentleman, calm-cool-tender old man-easy going...which is a good thing, since some of the younger ones in the group can be a little feisty, tee hee

s* has not yet completed her assignment, but here are some pix she took the other

day, trying to get ideas on the way home from 4H...i'll post her final pix when she takes 'em...the club only meets once a month, so she has plenty of time, next mtg. Feb. 25th...
