online stock class...

well...12 lessons...6 weeks...and much RE-reading & trying to understand it all, i have completed my first college course!!!
Stocks, Bonds, and Investing, OH MY! @ etown comm. college online
i just got done taking my exam and i got a 97%--only 1 wrong outta 36 questions!!
that's still an A, right?
here is the question i got wrong, and it didn't provide me with the right answer, do you know the answer? (i answered d.)

WHY DOES MARKET VALUE TYPICALLY EXCEED BOOK VALUE?
A) because the assets of the company generate more profit than they are worth.
B) because assets depreciate over time.
C) because liquidation measures are more reliable than market values.
D) because dividends increase the value of ownership while decreasing the cash held by the company.
