HOME is the first Ministry of Education...

i have taken part in a 12 week online study on American Christian Education to help shore up questions i have had on implementing the Principle Approach with s*... we are using James Rose's Guide, which is a fantastic resource! i wanted to share some notes here on my study~

The Christian home is where God's Providence should be taught and wise instruction and discipline in Biblical principles should begin. Giving such instruction is a Biblical mandate:
Exodus 13:8: And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the Lord did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.
Exodus 13:14: And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of bondage...
Deuteronomy 4:9: Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them to thy sons, and thy son's sons;...
Deuteronomy 6:7: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou wakest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Joshua 4:20-22,24: And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal. And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers intime to come, saying, What mean these stones? Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land...That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God forever.
Psalm 78:4: We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength and his wonderful works that He hath done.
John 21:15: ...Feed my lambs.
2 Timothy 3:15: And that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Jesus Christ.
Galatians 4:1-2: Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

these verses and James Rose's description of home education has been a much needed encouragement on this journey! he is a student of Verna Hall and Rosalie Slater whom developed the Principle Approach through an adult study of restoration of Biblical Principles in our republic.

we are currently in week #2 and already i have learned so much, even tho i have already read (skimmed) through these books over the past year...
