the Rudiments class was postponed (to 9/21-9/25),
so i somewhat postponed starting school with s*~
however, we have been "previewing" the timeline, been working in our Handling $ God's way book, and have 'built' our binders for each subject.
we made our own timeline, and she mounted it on our wall~
(it is on the longest wall running down the middle of the house)
we had fun with that; picking the pictures to represent the link, choosing the paper, laminating, mounting evenly...
the plan is to add pictures, quotes, scriptures, etc. relevant to the timeframe, under the link picture from the top~{kind of a huge, on-going bulletin board} to keep track of what we have been learning and how everything is 'linked together' in HIS-story {history} to further the gospel and glorify HIM!
it is such a cool way to learn things! it seems like it pulls everything together and information becomes easier to remember when you are learning from the "whole to parts" rather than "bits & pieces - put together nonsensically"
s* really likes hands-on activities, but i am learning also that i need to not have too many options, otherwise we will never get stuff done (this project should've taken about an hour and we were on it almost 2.5 hrs.!)

I like the time line. I think school would have been more interesting for me if I did it your way.
