i made it to church this morning!

i have been compelled the last couple weeks to go...
today i finally made it, it was good as it always is.

tho, i must admit, at first i was a little frustrated-
one of the things that has kept me from the church is
the Business of the church, it is my fault as i think
i know better than others how it should be run - this
is NOT the case -
anyway, i do have a resentment against a fellow on the
"financial committee" of all things, and this morning he
gave a 15 min. report on the Business of the church and
how we are 'affiliated' with associations...
this is probably necessary and all well and all good,
however it was very tedious and straining for me - but i
was awakened to the Holy Spirit that was 'nudging' me to
seek Forgiveness!
imagine - Forgiveness, my goodness do i ever struggle with that!
it was no accident, happenstance, nor coincidince that this
particular man was to give a particularly long dissertation
of the notes he took of the 9 hour assoc. mtg. he attended
on behalf of our humble little church, what an Opportunity
for me to pray - ask forgiveness of my resentment and
pray that i may forgive this man as well...
thank you God for your presence and your Perfect Will,
May Your Will NOT Mine Be Done!

(wow, that was pretty lengthy and i am not even done!)

there was a brief testimony of a man who (in the armed
services - basic training) had fallen 60 ft. out of a helicopter
who, not only survived, but came to rely on our Creator, as
a result, that was very moving!!
Thank you for Encouragement, Lord!

then, on to the sermon, Bro Jim dabbled in politics this morning,
he talked about 'being informed' when voting next month!
he did NOT tell us who to vote for - but he did strongly urge
us to Learn about the canidates, beyond the boob tube
soundbites, i couldn't agree more "Amen" one issue that is
near and dear to him is Abortion (me too) and he shared a lot of
(for lack of a better word) stunning statistics...when we cast our
vote this year, let us study where the canidates stand on the
precious "Right To Life" endowed to us by our Loving Creator!
Lord, we Thank You for Your Grace & Mercy, Amen!

direct from the canidates websites, here is where they stand,
at least on this one issue:

I am proud of you. "Keep coming back" I really miss my church. I hear about the wonderful things that are going on there, and I feel like I'm missing out. As for the business of the church, it is very clear in the bible that Jesus recognized the need for business organization of the church, and instructed his desciples in that regard. Groups require leadership, and leadership is a "people business". I love Ya -- Dad
