...for some reason, i can't post to the other blog where i tend to discuss more spiritual matters, so i will post here! i went to a live simulcast of beth moore today at parkway baptist church, the title...STRAIGHT TALK ABOUT GOD'S DELIVERANCE...
let me just tell you that it was Awesome...here is a scripture that sums it up, and the thing that stood out to me the most...
"Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." Philippians 2:18-21
WOW!!
we really focused on Psalm 18, disected it, basically, and beth got real personal ... she is intense, especially with women, when it comes to God, she Loves the Lord, there is no question! you can feel her emotion as she speaks, prays, and shares her intense love for Christ! i am so grateful to be in a place in my life where i am finally open to God's abundant blessing and the teachers He has put in my path, that draw me closer to Him!
i don't want to bore anyone with a bunch of details, but i am compelled to share a little more, at least...first & foremost, take a minute to read out loud Psalm 18...pray first and ask God to reveal to you His Message through this passage, here is how it was explained to me...
from the beginning...(Psalm 18:1) "I Love You, O Lord, my strength."
the "love" in this scripture, beth described as a 'volition' love (if you're like me and don't know what that means, here is what i found in the dictionary-volition: the capability of conscious choice and decision and intention)...she further described this love as the intense emotion we feel when as moms/grandmas we see a little 2 month old child and are compelled to pick him up and hold him because our love is so intense and strong...i don't know if you reading this right now, can relate to that, but that was a powerful description to me!
the other part that stood out was Psalm 16-19... and she repeated it several times and shortened it and physically demonstrated it... God will ... reach down
take hold
draw me out
& rescue me!!
the scripture is much longer, of course, but this is the jist of it and it is powerful!!
beth has written a book that went along with this conference, Get Out Of That Pit.
if you didn't have an opportunity to go to this conference, please do check out Psalm 18!!
